Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQS)
What is the gate code for Sonora Vista?
The gate code is 6539.
When and why do I need to file an
architectural request form?
An architectural
request form needs to be filed when any
change is being made to the outside of your home.
The HOA has rules that cover the blocking of neighbor’s views by structures,
but the most restrictive rules come from the City of Scottsdale. City
ordinances cover paint color, reflective characteristics, plants and more.
The HOA is obligated by law to enforce these rules. If a homeowner is in
violation, the city can penalize not only the homeowner, but also the HOA
for not enforcing the ordinances. The project may need to be altered or
demolished completely, so obtaining approval prior to start is the most
prudent way to proceed.
Where do I get the form and what do I do with it when
I have filled it out?
You can download a form from this
site under “Community Manager”. You can mail or fax the form to the manager
using the information shown.
What do I get for my HOA dues?
Over half of the budget goes for Cox
Cable television. The next largest budget item is maintenance. The total
budget breakdown for this year is filed under “Documents” on this website.
How do I run for the Board?
Contact the community
manager for details. Every homeowner is encouraged to run for the Board to
participate in your community. You will be welcomed. Elections are in
June, so election materials are prepared about March.
Where are HOA meetings held?
Meetings are currently held at the
Palomino Library, on Via Linda. Meetings are posted on the Home page of
this website as well as signs posted in the community the week of the
meeting. All homeowners are welcome to attend.
Minutes of past meetings

needed” basis.
